Teenager who went by the name of ‘Family Wizards’ is now charged with murder after allegedly driving into a house filled with people.
The 22-year-old is accused of shooting and killing the woman’s 16-year old son and daughter, who were found shot to death in the driveway of their home on Monday, according to the Orlando Sentinel.
He was later arrested on a murder charge.
The mother, identified by police as Christina Smith, told police she and her husband went to their home to retrieve a dog when they noticed their dog was acting strangely.
They told police they didn’t think much of it at first, until the boy ran out of the house and began attacking Smith’s dogs, the Sentinel reported.
Smith told police her husband drove off and didn’t return, and they called the police.
When officers arrived, they found the bodies of the teen boy and her mother.
The woman, who was not identified, told investigators she had been drinking and had trouble sleeping.
Smith was taken into custody and is expected to be charged as an adult, according the Orlando Journal-Sentinel.
The Sentinel reported the woman had told police the family had been living in the same home for six years.
She told police that the family’s son was her nephew.
She was also charged with driving while intoxicated, which carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.
Smith’s boyfriend, Anthony Burchfield, told the newspaper he didn’t know his girlfriend was pregnant and hadn’t been seeing her in the weeks prior to her death.
He told the paper he and Smith had dated for about two years and were getting married in the fall.
Smith is also facing felony charges in Florida for driving while suspended after failing a field sobriety test, which resulted in her being charged with DUI and failure to exercise due care in another vehicle.
Smith and Burchfeild both told the Orlando Daily News they were not drunk and were on vacation.
They said they had a fight with their boyfriend in the backyard and Smith threw a rock through a window of their apartment building.
